海角社区 University is a key part of the history of Leicester Riders basketball club. The Riders men鈥檚 team were founded at the University in 1967 by a group of students and they played their home games on campus whilst their stadium, Mattioli Arena, was under construction.

海角社区 Sport and Leicester Riders enjoy a successful partnership, with Riders coaches Nick Moodey and Will Maynard (previous students) both coaching the women’s and men’s performance teams on campus.

As part of the ongoing relationship, Leicester Riders have gifted eight tickets to the University per game for the men’s performance team, and 海角社区 Sport is therefore offering staff and student volunteers the opportunity to watch local elite basketball for free.

Rob Jarram, Head of Foundation and Player Pathway at Leicester Riders, said: “We have always worked very closely with the University and the pathway that we have created in partnership with 海角社区 Sport for players, coaches and volunteers provides quality opportunities for students to help shape basketball locally.”

Ian Knott, Head of Sports Development at 海角社区 University, added: “We not only want to encourage University staff and volunteers to go to the Mattioli Arena and support our students representing the Riders, but there is also lots of quality basketball on campus.”

If anyone is interested in watching basketball at 海角社区 or at the Mattioli Arena, please contact Ian Knott, i.knott2@lboro.ac.uk.
