Reminder: Car parking on the º£½ÇÉçÇø campus

Over the past 12 months, changes have been made to parking on campus and we would like to remind staff of them to ensure they understand the requirements and expectations when bringing a vehicle to campus.

All vehicles staying on campus for a period greater than 30 minutes must be registered to park. The staff registration process, parking tariff and frequently asked questions can be found on our website. Staff on Grades 1-3 can park free of charge but their vehicle must still be registered.

Information about Parking Charge Notices

Any unregistered vehicles will be subject to a Parking Charge Notice (PCN). PCNs will also be issued to any vehicle found to be parked in breach of the motor vehicle use terms and conditions. A breach of these terms and conditions includes but is not limited to:

  • Parking anywhere on campus other than in a dedicated marked bay
  • Causing an obstruction
  • Exceeding the maximum stay/wait time
  • Failure to display a Blue Badge and not paying for parking.
  • Incorrect use of parking bays
  • Parking in a restricted area
  • Parking on grass, verge, or footpath
  • Parking session expired
  • Unauthorised parking
  • Parking in a bay reserved for another, eg NCSEM patient only bays

Changes to car parking over the summer

Spinney Hill, Ashleigh Drive and Dual Carriageway entrances are now for permit holders only and will only open to registered vehicles. The staff and permit holder lanes at the main East and West entrances will continue as normal and are camera controlled. Please ensure that any of your visitors (including deliveries and drop offs) are directed through the main East and West visitor lanes. Visitor information, including parking tariffs and where to park can be found on our website.

Parking at the Creative Arts estate is restricted to permit holders only from Monday to Friday between 6am-6pm. Any visitors using the car park during this period will be subject to a PCN.

Student parking zones have been reintroduced for the 2024/25 academic year. A student with an approved parking permit can access Car Park 1 (multistorey), Car Park 7, and Holywell Car Park. We can approve a permit which is valid at the Creative Arts estate to students based here on verification of their course. Parking permits issued to students with a Student Wellbeing and Inclusion (SWAI) adjustment are not affected by these changes.

A new parking map has been created which highlights parking areas and indicates the best routes to access these.

Monthly permits update

Less than 2.5% of registered staff are using a monthly permit so the decision has been made to remove this as an option. Staff with a current active monthly permit can continue using this but when the permit expires, they will need to switch to daily charging by setting up autopay. Please note staff on Grades 1-3 will be unaffected by this change and can continue to access a free monthly permit.
