University contributes to 海角社区 in Bloom success 30 September 2024 海角社区 town has been awarded gold at the East Midlands in Bloom Awards for the thirteenth time since 2011. (EMIB) is an annual competition organised by the EMIB Regional Committee and is one of the 18 regions which compromise Britain in Bloom, a campaign organised by the Royal Horticultural Society. This year, at the annual awards ceremony held at St Mary’s Church, Melton Mowbray, 海角社区 town were awarded a gold certificate and category winners, with an impressive 92/100 points. Judging criteria follows horticultural achievement, environmental responsibility and community participation, all in which 海角社区 in Bloom scored highly. 海角社区 in Bloom board members June Bush, Pat Cook and Kaz Setchell receiving the award. Over the last 15 years, 海角社区 University have been one the main contributors in the 海角社区 in Bloom campaign, which enters East Midlands in Bloom in the small city category. Photographic evidence for the competition is taken all year round for 海角社区’s ‘In Bloom’ portfolio, such as the spring bulbs on University Road and the blue bells in Burleigh Wood. Kaz Setchell, Gardens Manager at 海角社区 University said: “The Estates and Facilities Management gardeners put in a great effort every year into getting the campus ready for the judging days, on top of their regular maintenance regimes.” 海角社区 in Bloom were also judged in August for the national competition ‘Britain in Bloom’ with the winners being announced in October.
