Upcoming planned outages on the University Wi-Fi, wired network and Data Centre

IT Services will be carrying out a series of essential maintenance activities on the University network and Data Centre during December.

This will result in downtime to the Wi-Fi, wired network and most key services hosted in the Data Centre between 7.30am and 8.30am on the following days:

  • Thursday 5 December
  • Friday 6 December
  • Wednesday 18 December

How does this affect me?  &²Ô²ú²õ±è;

The work is scheduled to take place between 7.30am and 8.30am and will impact both the º£½ÇÉçÇø and London campuses. Users will experience periods where there will be a loss of access to:

  • Network connectivity – Wi-Fi and wired service
  • Most University online services
  • VPN connectivity for users off-campus

Services will be available from 8.30am, however, there is a risk of instability until 10.30am. &²Ô²ú²õ±è;

The level of disruption and experience may be different on each day.

The timing of the work has been planned to ensure that we have the full support of our external maintenance suppliers who are available from 8am and that it is the best fit for the University, avoiding University events such as Payroll and Graduation.

Where can I get more information?  &²Ô²ú²õ±è;

Service status updates are available on the , with guidance on other ways to connect during a network outage.

If you have any queries, please contact the IT Service Desk at IT.Services@lboro.ac.uk.
