Coming soon: Have your say with the 2023 Staff Experience Survey

The Staff Experience Survey is an important opportunity for us to measure how satisfied you are working at the University as well as providing you with an opportunity to have your say on the things that matter most to you.

鈥疶he feedback we receive will help us to focus on the things that are most important to staff and prioritise areas for improvement. The data will also be used to improve working conditions and practices and, ultimately, the employee experience we provide.

The University launched the Staff Experience Survey last year, and as a result of your feedback, a number of significant measures have been implemented by the University since, including:

  • Carrying out a review of pay and benefits at the University

  • Establishing a working group to review line management structures for academic staff

  • Holding Town Halls for academic staff and professional services staff to update colleagues on important University activities and developments

  • Extending General Assemblies to three times a year from once a year

  • Substantial revisions to the PDR process to remove performance ratings and place greater emphasis on wellbeing, development and career aspirations as well as performance

  • Revising the VC awards event to enable more staff to be nominated and recognised

More activities underway as a result of your feedback can be viewed on our (please note sign-in may be required).

This year’s survey will run from 6 – 27 November.

You will receive an invitation to take part in the survey by email on Monday 6 November. The survey is being managed by an external provider called鈥疨eople Insight, so please note your invitation will have been sent from this external email address:鈥survey-invite@peopleinsight.co.uk鈥.&苍产蝉辫;

Please be reassured that this is a legitimate email. Please do not forward or share your link with anyone else, otherwise, the responses you have provided may become visible to them.鈥

It takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and covers questions around the subjects of wellbeing, values, recognition, leadership, development, EDI, and overall job satisfaction.

As a thank you for taking part, a donation will be made to Eden Reforestation Projects for every individual who completes the survey. This organisation works with local communities to restore rainforests on a massive scale thereby creating jobs, protecting ecosystems, and helping mitigate climate change. Last year, £2331 was donated to Eden Rainforest Projects to invest into planting and maintaining mangrove trees thanks to those who took part in the survey.

More information about this year’s Staff Experience Survey can be found on the .

Shortly after the Staff Experience Survey, the University will launch a separate survey for casual workers. The University recognises the experiences of this group of colleagues is unique to open-ended and fixed-term staff. Therefore, a tailored survey will launch in December to provide an opportunity for casual workers to share their feedback and inform the University of their unique experiences. This will allow the University to identify specific factors impacting the casual worker experience at 海角社区.
