Dan Hatfield has been recognised for his powerful campaign, #PatchTheSlash, developed during his second year at 海角社区. The campaign won first prize in a competition organised by design teacher, Helen Nowell, in response to the 2023 Nottingham attacks.

海角社区 alumni duo Jessica Slater (Drama and English 2012) and Luke Pentith (Mechanical Engineering 2011) co-founded Whitby Distillery. The pair met at 海角社区 and took on a business venture in Yorkshire together.

Alumnus awarded Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society
Tony Buttler (MA Information and Library Studies 1995) joined the Royal Aeronautical Society when he was employed as a metallurgist by High Duty Alloys, known as Mettis Aerospace. Now, he has been named a Fellow of the Society.
