Clyde Williams (080) - Calorifier Replacement - Intermitted attendance > 22/12/25-16/1/26.

Posted: 10 December 2025

Description of the Works

One of the existing calorifiers has failed and is currently isolated. This will be replaced with a new Andrews hot water calorifier to ensure the hot water system has backup resilience capacity.

The hot water services will be isolated on Monday 22nd December to allow the existing calorifier to be removed and new valves to be fitted to the branch pipework where it connects to the common system. The hot water services will be interrupted for 1 day. This will then allow the other calorifiers to be put back online while the installation work is carried out.

The contractor will return in the new year to connect the new gas and water pipework. The hot water will be switched off again (date TBC) to allow the new flue to be connected to the common flue, during this work the appliances will be isolated but residual stored hot water will still be available to the building.

The existing BMS temperature probes will be re-used in the new pipework.

On completion of the installation, the new pipework and calorifier will be chlorinated via new chlorination tees which will then be removed post chlorination and the branch valves opened to join the additional calorifier to the hot water system.
