Interfaith Week 12th-19th November 2023
At the University Chaplaincy we’re marking this year’s Interfaith Week by inviting staff and students to join us to:
- Strengthen good inter faith relations at all levels.
- Increase awareness of the different and distinct faith communities in the UK, celebrating and building on the contribution which their members make to their neighborhoods' and to wider society.
- Increase understanding between people of religious and non-religious beliefs.
(aims shared from- )
Here’s what’s happening:
- 14/11/23 3:00pm- Positive Thinking with Chaplain Natalie Steel in EHB 209 & 210. We will explore methods to tap into the natural positivity within us and build a resilient mind.
- 15/11/23 1:15pm- Communion with Chaplain Revd Angela Tarry in The Chapel. Open to all Christian denominations, other faiths or none; join for a traditional communion service with prayers lead by Anglican Christian Chaplain Revd Angela.
- 16/11/23 11:00am- Quaker Silence led by Chaplain Anthony Gimpel in EHB 210. In a Quaker Meeting for Worship we are invited to be still, to yield ourselves and our outward concerns to God’s guidance, so that we may find the evil weakening in us and the good raised up. Our advice is “Take heed, dear Friends to the promptings of love and truth in your hearts.”
All are welcome, whether you have a personal faith or not. There’s no need to book, just turn up and bring a friend or colleague.
